Evaluation on Past Students Work

Focus
this thriller is similar to ours as we shall be following a girl through the eyes of the stalker. The blood in the bath represents something is going to happen to her, unlike in ours where you will see her after the attack has happened. At the end of focus, you see the girl getting grabbed like ours it is a flash of this so that you don't know the whole plot of the film. The camera is hand held to show that it is the stalkers point of view. At the end of focus you do see the pictures that he has taken of her... this is similar to ours as we will have flashes of these throughout our opening. The film is well produced but has too much of the stalker following the girl.

Initial Thriller Idea

The opening shall go through the stages of the girls attack from the stalker.
It shall begin with the stalkers shrine towards the girl. including photos and documents about her.
we will then have contrasting shots, e.g her hair, eyes, wrists and legs... looking beautiful and then when he has assaulted he, e.g black eyes, slashed wrists, legs grazed.
there will be a significant necklace which we will first see on the girl, then in for example a puddle, where will see it being picked up, and then placed onto the shrine
The credits shall appear over the top of the significant necklace swinging.

Ident

Our production company shall be called Street Lights.
After trying many different font styles... we decided to go for something simple and adding a background.
We chose to go for a simple dark background to emphasize the glow of the '' street light '', this is also done through the silhouetted houses in the behind the the text. We chose this font type because it was simple and adds effect via the theme of the ident and also is in keeping with the style of elegance and simplicity.

Preliminary Task Evaluation

In our preliminary task to show continuity editing we filmed character 1 walking along a corridor from two different angles, behind and in front. To follow the 180 degrees rule we filmed a conversation over the shoulder without crossing sides. A match on Action shot shows the action happening from two perspectives. To show this we captured a shot of the door opening from behind and then took a shot from the other side that continued from the first shot.
